Curriculum » ICT
We have two computer suites both with 30 Windows XP machines all with printing, networking and internet facilities together with mono and colour laser jet printers. We actively promote the use of ICT across the curriculum and the majority of classrooms are fitted with data projectors. There are currently 15 Interactive Whiteboards installed in classrooms around the school. All of our school areas are accessible to our wired and wireless network and all computers have access to the internet.
Computer club runs at lunchtimes twice a week and provides an opportunity for children to finish off work, print out homework or to access the internet, under supervision.
With an hour lesson each week, pupils develop their skills and make decisions about the
quality and appropriateness of information and develop their work with greater thought
of audience and purpose. This includes units on: introduction to the network;
graphical modelling; spreadsheet
model l i ng; mul ti medi a
presentation using appropriate
graphics and sounds in their work;
searching for and interpreting
information; control and
monitoring; organising the
electronic storage of their work;
developing the use of e-mails;
adding attachments saved
electronically and considering the
safe and responsible use of the
Internet.
This allows children to extend the
range of ICT tools and information
sources they use to support their
work in all subjects across the
curriculum.
